Notepad Firmware and Control Panel Setup - Windows v2.0.4 (Windows)

Last Updated: Jul 01

The Notepad v2.0.4 update package for Windows 7/10 released June 2020 includes an improved installation process for the combined ASIO Driver and Control Panel/Firmware Update installer application, compatible with the latest Windows security and driver signing features. For full information and installation instructions, please download and read the Release Notes document from this page before commencing installation.

The software includes three components:

  • Low-latency Soundcraft ASIO driver, updated to v4.82. The latency and sample rate are controllable from within your computer workstation software or other computer audio application.

  • Firmware Update Utility – this allows early version Notepads to be updated to the latest v1.09 firmware which includes the broadcast style Ducker (side chain compressor) feature, designed for independent content creators. Depending on which Notepad is connected, users can select up to four mic pre channels as threshold triggers to “duck” the USB audio return when they are speaking. This allows an independent content creator to have music or gaming audio playing back on their computer through their USB to the Notepad, and when they speak, automatically duck that USB audio return during speech, returning to previous levels shortly after they stop speaking.
Note that if your Notepad already has v1.09 firmware installed, you will not need to use the firmware update utility. See release notes for details.

  • Control Panel application - allows the selection of available inputs to feed the USB bus to computer workstation software, and control of the threshold and triggers for the Ducker.
