OKNO-TV Takes First Broadcast Soundcraft Vi4 In Russia
Russian system integration company OKNO-TV has purchased a Soundcraft Vi4™ digital console for installation in a Russian Television and Radio (RTR) outside broadcast truck.
RTR is the largest broadcasting organisation in Russia and they started using the new facility the moment it was commissioned.
One of the most demanding challenges for the new desk, however, will come when RTR commences broadcasting from Beijing during the summer Olympic Games.
This is the second Vi series sale that Soundcraft’s distributors A&T Trade have been responsible for — they had previously sold a Vi6 to TV rental company Sonic Services, who produce a number of programmes for Russian television.
A&T Trade’s Evgeni Ilnitski said, “It is never easy to sell live consoles into the broadcast market, but because of the relationship and common platform between Studer and Soundcraft OKNO-TV saw the opportunity to get broadcast facilities at a more favourable price.”
And Yuri Shagin, from SMC, a division of A&T Trade, who was responsible for the sale, added that the company had been impressed with the sound quality and ease of use. “This was the feedback we received after we gave them a loan console,” he said.
