Dundee United behind Spirit

--Dundee College’s new HNC Modern Musicianship course has taken delivery of a dozen Spirit Folio F1 consoles. The desks, which are used alongside Macintosh G4s with Cubase, form the basis of twelve workstations on which the students will write, record and mix their finished products.

The man responsible for speccing the Folio F1s is Course Leader, John McAvoy. He explains his choice;

“I had to equip twelve workstations from a relatively limited budget and the Spirit consoles were the obvious choice. They have earned an excellent reputation for quality and reliability at an affordable price, which is exactly what we were after. I’ve used Spirit desks before in various studios and I’ve always been impressed”.

“The students enjoy using the F1s as they’re so clearly laid out there’s not much that can be done wrong. They’re all used to using larger consoles so the F1s don’t hold any fear for them. It’s a small desk but the sound quality is excellent”.

Spirit consoles are used by a huge range of artists including Asian Dub Foundation, Sasha, the Lightning Seeds and the Manic Street Preachers.
