AED Rent Enters Soundcraft's Digital World

--AED Rent Belgium, one of Europe's largest rental support companies, has confirmed its first purchase of six Soundcraft Vi Series™ digital consoles at this year’s Pro Light+Sound. AED managing director, Eddy van Nuffel and general manager, Glenn Roggeman, agreed an initial purchase of two Vi6 and four Vi4 consoles with Alain Boone, account manager, Live Sound at Soundcraft’s Belgian distribution company, Audio XL. The desks are supplied with optical MADI I/O cards which provide an additional 64 channels of input and output for applications such as hard disk recording or broadcast feeds.

Said Glenn Roggeman: “We immediately liked the console’s fast access and ease of use, while the fact that it is part of the Harman Pro Group makes it commercially viable.”

He said that in opting for complete systems AED’s production company clients will have access to the latest digital technology at a cost-effective price, without the need for insert racks. The new desks will be used throughout Europe — from small theatre projects to stadium rock and roll work.

The order was placed only after extensive evaluation, which the Vi6 passed with flying colours. “After that, it never left the building!” stated Roggeman.

Alain Boone said, “This is a highly significant sale for Audio XL; having companies like AED Rent endorsing these consoles will open doors for us in Belgium. We will be fully supporting the desk and providing training for both AED and their customers.”

AED Rent have a long history of running Soundcraft systems in their fleet, and their new digital consoles are supported by a complement of analogue desks, which range from MH3’s to GB4’s.
